Just like Aasimars Tieflings are beings where a parent or direct ancestor came from another plane of existence. Specifically the ancestry of Tieflings comes from the planes that are considered to represent chaos, violence, oppression and would often culturally represent versions of what many species would consider to be their versions of hell.
Physical Characteristics
Tieflings mix the physical characteristics of their extra-planar ancestors with those of the race they got born into. With that, they might look very different to each other, but there is a certain trend with teiflings to assume a look that makes them similar to what the culture they are born into imagines their verison of demons and devils to look like.
