The Medical Run & The Pursuers (2024-08-02)

Setting & Atmosphere

• The session takes place in Den's Den Bar, with the storm still active but beginning to weaken.
• Tensions rise as a medical delivery job is offered under urgent circumstances.
• The weather remains dangerous, with strong winds still threatening to make travel difficult.

Main Events

The Job Offer

• Charles, the orc, confirms that the shipment consists of medical supplies for a patient who had to be transported urgently.
• The vehicle carrying the supplies is stranded, and communication with the driver and co-driver is lost.
• A second payment is promised upon delivery, making it a well-paid but risky job.
• Mia, Det, and Siz step up, willing to take on the job.

 - Mia confidently declares herself as a skilled driver.
 - Det confirms she can repair the vehicle if needed.
 - Siz reluctantly joins, mostly to ensure medical supplies are intact.

The Team Assembles

• Den hands over the keys to the transport vehicle, a large blue transporter parked out back.
• Charles shares the GPS tracker data, indicating the missing vehicle is about 15 kilometers (10 miles) away.
• Nicknames are assigned—Mia is "Driver," Det is "Spare Hands," and Charles remains the "Client."
• Siz arms herself, bringing along a dart gun and a first-aid kit.

Departure & The Chase Begins

• Mia chooses the shortest route, avoiding the exposed highway and sticking to city streets.
• Siz tapes herself to the floor of the transporter, preferring a makeshift solution over seat belts.
• The streets are mostly empty, but a few cautious drivers are seen venturing out.
• Mia notices a suspicious black van following them.

 - It made the same right and left turns as they did.
 - Tinted windows, two men in the front seats, one with a tattoo over his eyebrow.
 - The van hesitates at a red light, then blows through it to keep following.

The Escape Maneuver

• Mia warns the team to brace themselves before attempting a risky high-speed 180° turn.
• The maneuver is rough but successful, using the wind to counterbalance the transport.
• The two men in the van curse as Mia speeds past them.
• Mia immediately takes side streets, zigzagging between buildings in an effort to lose the pursuers.
• Det and Siz hold on, with Det tightening her seatbelt and Siz securing her supplies.

Next Steps

• Mia slows down after several turns, believing they might have lost the van.
• A decision must be made:

 - Should they ensure they lost the pursuers before proceeding?
 - Should they head straight for the stranded vehicle, hoping to get there first?

• Det votes for going directly to the vehicle, completing the job and letting Charles and Den handle the rest.
• The team remains on edge, not fully sure if they are still being followed.

• Is the black van still tracking them?
• What happened to the missing driver and co-driver?
